All girls dream of their big princess wedding!...NOT! I certainly am way too young to even start thinking about mine!...But I do think about the dress.. and I was one of the many that woke up extra early last April to see the big reveal of Kate Middleton's dress! Let's face it... who can do it better than celebrities?
Here's a few of my favorite celebrity wedding dresses!
Ok, so it wouldn't appeal to most of us today, I certainly wouldn't be choosing it as my wedding dress, but back in the day this dress made headlines! Princess Diana introduced the meringue, highly decorative over the top wedding dress with a 25ft train, and when I look through my mums old photo albums, herself, her friends and her sisters all wore dresses inspired by this one! It was designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel and looked like something from a classic Disney fairytale! The dress is now exhibited around the world and has raised over one million pounds for charity!
The flowing, figure hugging dress that Courteny Cox wore when she married David Arquette in 1999 is also one of my all time favorites! This silk Valentino gown is modest, yet sexy on courts beautiful body! The bride wore a tull veil attached to a flower headpiece, her hair was simple like the dress, but still amazingly elegant!
Being the daughter of Ralph Lauren has its perks, like a stunning wedding dressed designed by daddy! Dylan, famous for her chain stores Dylans Candy Bar, Looked stunning on her big day! At thirty seven years old she opted for a classy dress. The dress was made of duchess satin and silk tulle, It was embroidered and had a tiered train. She doesn't look a day over thirty to me!
When Nicole married Keith Urban she chose a classic, Ivory Balenciaga wedding gown. I thought the dress was beautiful and suited Nicole perfectly! She even managed to score herself dress of the century! Well done Nicole!
The wedding dress was chosen and fitted, the date was set, and Audrey Hepburn decided to call off her wedding to James Hanson, insisting that both of their jobs were too demanding! I still think the dress deserves a mention because it's stunning! The Ivory, satin dress was designed by the Fontana sisters and 'was love at first sight!' The dress was short to match Audreys pixie hairstyle. I love it love it love it!
Victoria Beckham wore this beautiful Champaigne, satin dress by Vera Wang. The tightly fitted dress showed off Posh's beautiful figure, and suited her Serious personality, yet the crown on her head gave the look that princess feel!
Kate Middletons wedding dress was inspired by that of princess Kate, and frankly, the reason I haven't mentioned it is because Grace done it better! (In my opinion) Kellys dress was designed by Helen Rose who claimed it was the most expensive dress she had ever made! 'The wedding dress consisted of a rounded collar, full skirt of ivory peau de soie, and a fitted bodice made from Brussels lace embroidered with seed pearls. The lace was over a century old and had flower designs in it.'
Damn I love Vera Wang! The fitted lace dress looked absolutely stunning on Hilary, she portrayed a look of youth, beauty and elegance on her big day! It wasn't only the dress I loved, it was her hair too in a timeless classic bun so not to take away from the dress and her flowers are cute too!
What do you think of these dresses?
