Edward Steichen

Known as one of the first modern fashion photographers, Steichen ruled the 1940's as one of the highest paid at the time. Having worked for renowned magazines of the time such as Camera Work, Art et Decoration, Conde Nast, Vogue and Vanity Fair, he moved on to open the little galleries of photo- secession, or 291, with Alfred Stieglitz.
His photo's are elegant, graceful and capture perfectly both femininity and luxury.

Aren't these photo's fantastic? I just love the 1940's style!
