Ying Yangs..

All this asian inspiration talk has reminded me of how much I love Ying Yangs!
The meaning behind them:  'that opposite or contrary forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world; and, how they give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another.'

Kimono craze!...

With over a dozen different types of Kimono out there, the Japanese must have known that this was a classic that would repeat itself throughout future fashion, and honestly it's a trend I'm in love with!
After last nights post on oriental fashion on the runway I just had to have a browse and show you ladies some of my favourite affordable kimono's in store this summer!

 Zara

Once I get my hands on one (here's to hoping!) I just know it will become a key piece in my summer wardrobe, weather it be wearing it on a chilly summer evening over a nice dress, or with a glam pair of flowy trousers at a barbecue. What do you think of the Kimono trend?

Oriental beauty...

It's something that seems to pop up on the runway of every season, and has now hit the high street with beautiful prints, vibrant colours, light flowy fabrics and kimono's filling the shelves.

Ralph Lauren Fall 2011

Emilio Pucci S/S 2013

Etro S/S 2013

Marni S/S 2013

Diana Orving S/S 2013

My favourite place to shop the look this summer? Well, to window shop the look, has to be Zara!
From their drapy kimono's, wide sleeved crops and printed blazers they just seem to have the look covered.

What do you ladies think of this trend?

Dresses To Die For: The Boldini Edition...

Rather than focusing on a modern designer for this edition of my 'Dresses to die for' feature, I decided to take a look back at the artwork of Italian artist Giovanni Boldini, 'Master of Swish'..
From riding dresses to tea gowns these stunning pieces were painted in the late 1800s and early 1900s, and I'd be happy to wear a few of them today! Why can't fashion still be like this?
It makes me wonder why I wait around to see what modern designers will surprise me with next season, when I can simply delve into the past and find beauty like this!

...With Flowers In My Hair!..

I don't know about you ladies but I am DIGGING flower headpieces this summer!
Whats more beautiful than a wreath of flowers in your hair on a sunny summer evening?
Not a fan?.. These stunning editorial shots might change your mind...

I've been meaning to get my hands on one for a while now, but being a broke student hasn't helped! So I've made do with the hairband my sister wore on her first holy communion, 16 years ago!
Hey at least it has sentimental value!
It's not as dramatic as I'd like but hey, it does the job!

After having a nice browse on the web the headpiece that stood out the most for me, and is now at the top of my wish list, is this stunning rose crown from Dolly Bow Bow Boutique, Roses are my absolute favourite thing in the world and in that colour, of wow!

What do you ladies think of this trend? Are you brave enough to try it?
