The editorial I'm focusing on in this post is one he created for Italian Vogue in 2011.

No surprise thats it's haunting, mesmerizing and a little erotic... I've always had a little thing for the dark side. Think 'The Others' meets Couture!

Pallas Couture Bridal

Getting married is the last thing on my mind, heck I'm only twenty... but that doesn't stop me from drooling over Bridal couture.
We all probably know by now that I'm a little obsessed with evening wear, and I guess in a way they come hand in hand.
Pallas Couture is one of Australia's leading fashion couturiers. I stumbled upon their website not long ago and found myself saving my favorite gowns to share with you...
Throughout their five collections there really is a dress for every kind of Fashion forward bride...
My preferences lie with the softer, more whimsical and fairytale looking gowns.

To shop these looks or just see some more incredible pieces check out the Pallas Couture website here!

Christopher Kane Meets the High Street

Christopher Kane was a key show stealer for me at fashion week with his stunning Spring/Summer 2014 collection. Inspired by Photosynthesis and the idea of inadequacy of high school sex education. The collection was bold, bright and oh so daring with cut out petal embroideries and grungy combinations.

Today I wanted to focus on the baggy jumper and skirt combo that repeated itself throughout the collection. Modesty is evident. It's stylish, it's Avante Garde and it's oh so easy to replicate off the runway.

I can see this trend being HUGE here in Ireland this spring, It's still terribly nippy so jumpers will probably be around right up until, and even during summer, and the modest length of the midi will help to keep our legs toasty.

The simple silhouette allows us to play around with textures, colors and patterns. Don't be afraid to block and mis-match! Be brave, be bold, add a fluorescent hat or a chunky pair of shoes and don't forget your funkiest retro sunnies!

Here are a few different looks that I've composed using pieces from one of my favorite high street stores, Topshop:

Which one of these looks would you sport?

Freaks of Fashion: Yolandi Visser

Now when I say freaks, I mean it in the best way possible… Although this lady may not be huge on the mainstream scene, she has inspired many popular artists and even went to war against Gaga herself!
Ever heard of Die Antwoord? If not your taste in music is probably not as mental as mine..

A rap-rave band from Cape Town, South Africa, the duo, Yolandi and Ninja, are responsible for many banging tunes and draw a lot of inspiration from Hip Hop and the South African Zef counterculture movement. Like many musicians I opt to listen to they see their music, video's and style as pure art,  and aren't afraid to look different rather than conforming with trends.

Yolandi  has to be one of the most unique and interesting looking people in the world. Her edgy haircuts, creepy contacts and baggy clothes make her stand out among the masses, she looks almost.. animated!

You're probably wondering about her feud with Lady GaGa… I'm not one for gossiping but I'll give you a summary… When Lady Gaga asked the duo to support her on tour they declined. It's said that Yolandi wasn't too impressed with lady Gaga, one could say re-inventing, others could say completely copying her freaky look for an album cover. As a response to this insult the duo created the video for their song 'fatty boom boom' (I'll post below) which depicts a drag queen Gaga arriving in South Africa and being torn apart by a Lion. Looks like even Lady G herself has been out-crazied, don't mess with these guys!

I just love this freaky phenomenon!

Pull & Bear Spring 2011 Campaign

Close your eyes, take a deep breath, allow yourself to be transported. It's summer, the sun is tickling your skin, your toes are in the cold lake water and there is a gentle breeze lifting your maxi skirt ever so slightly. Now open. Nope. Not Summer.
I don't know about you ladies but in these freezing cold, windy and rainy times I find myself spending a little too much of my spare time reminiscing of the summer.
I love the heat. I love the sun. I think my body was made for mediterranian climate, That would explain my sallow skin that never sun burns, and the fact that I FREEZE to death every single winter here in Ireland! So to help the days until summer move along swiftly here is the beautiful pull and bear campaign for Spring 2011. Light knits, chequered shirts and flowing skirts all captured by photographer Txema Yeste.
